I'm just a lady with an imagination of something more. Born and raised on the East Coast of FL, then lived in Nashville, TN for four years (and loved it!) and now reside in Memphis. I am working towards somewhere I can put my toes in the sand (again) or a place I can stare at beautiful snow topped mountains... 1) Around Me - points of interest including sights, restaurants, an theaters (free)
2) North Faces’s Trailhead - one-stop shop for outdoor exploring. Hocking an bike trails; also tracks speed, route, distance and elevation. Sweet! (free)
3) All subway - for those who aren’t scared to jump on the subway. Will show you map even without Internet connection. ($.99)
4) Cab4me - shows you where you can catch a cab a even estimate fare. ($.99)
5) LocalEats - focuses on LOCAL small restaurants that are popular with locals. Make reservations (via OpenTable) an send the cab to pick you up. Can’t get much easier than that. ($.99)
6) OpenTable - you should have this already but if you don’t, do. Make instant and confirmed reservations at over 20,000 restaurants. (free)
7) Find Beer Crafts - off the beaten path microbrews at local brew pubs, breweries, beer bars & beer stores near you. ($.99)
8) Cocktail Compass - great app if they have your city, unfortunately they don’t have Memphis but if you’re in one of the cities listed (look it up to see which ones are available) then it tells you where to find the fancy cocktails for cheap near you. (free)
9) Coffee Trip - if you want to support the locals, distance yourself from the normal Duncan donuts or Starbucks or just plain feel adventurous. Primarily searches for independent shops and toucan even be specific about what brand of coffee you are jonesing for. (free)
